2010 is off to a great start. With over 50 kids at our Feb. 27th camp the upcoming season looks to be a lot of fun for our youth and parents. The Jr War Cats will compete in select national tournaments and play youth teams from our region this upcoming season before officially joining the Alliance Youth Football League in its inaugural season in spring 2011. This new change comes as a much needed rest to our parents and coaches who travelled extensively in 2009 and will help better prepare our youth teams for a run at the AYFL Championships next season. Our 2011 AYFL youth division will include teams from Little Rock, Kansas City, and Springfield, MO with a possible additional team in Tulsa.

Updates for Parents:

05-18-10:

Practice for this week will be the normal on Tues., but Friday's practice has been moved to Thursday, due to parents wanting to leave on Friday.
The games on Saturday are at Bonner Springs High School in Bonner Springs, KS - 100 McDanield St Bonner Springs, KS 66012.  For those interested, they have a turf field (no stickers).
There is construction in the area.  The Kaos are having signs made to help get to the field, but they are not sure that they will be finished for Saturday.
Last I talked to KC, the 9-10 year olds play at 1:00
13-14 year olds play after, around 2:15-2:30
11-12 year olds play after, around 3:30-4:00
I will double check and verify that tomorrow.
Our 9-10 will be assisting the 11-12 and the 11 year olds will be assisting the 9-10. There is a break to give them a rest.
There is an adult game that follows, but it is not our team.  You can stay and watch the adult game with your ticket.  If you have a WarCats season pass, you can get in for free.

I would like to remind everyone that we have standards that must be upheld by all; parents, staff, and athletes.  The Alliance is much more strict about language and behavior than the WFL and WYFL.
The Alliance regulations state that anyone can be removed from the game, including fans, for foul language and inappropriate behavior.  Whether we are playing a WYFL team or someone else, let us all show what the Alliance is all about, respect and dignity.

If I do not have a copy of your son's birth certificate, please get it to me on Thursday nights practice.  I like the idea of TX last weekend, to keep all the birth certificates in binder, in case it is needed.  I will be putting that binder together this week, so please help me out by making sure I have what I need.

If you have not made the last payment of $100, please get with me.  I would also like those with boys on the oldest team to verify if they paid the extra $100 for the better/adult "air" helmet.  I only show that a few have paid that extra amount.  I wish all the helmets cost the same and that we didn't have to get the more expensive ones, but your son is going to be more protected using the helmet that is rated for this age group.

As far as our future schedule, we are either going to be in Springfield, MO or at Elkins with the 12-14 boys on June 5th.  KC is checking to see if their younger boys are available for our boys to play that day. The same team that we will play on June 5th (12-14) wants us to come to St. Louis and play them on June 19th.  The tournaments that we talked about last week are the weekend of June 11-13.  KC is checking their schedule for June 26th.  Coach Hickman is willing to start the preparations for our tournament here.  If anyone would like to assist him in putting that together, please get with him.

04-15-10:

Youth team photos May 1st. All youth players need to be at field and dressed by 11am.

04-05-10:

2010 Regular Season Schedule has been posted. Information on post season tournaments will be posted when confirmed.

Proposed Tournaments
June 11-13  Columbia, MO
July ? NW Arkansas (we would be hosting)
Aug. Dallas,TX (confirming if they are still having one)
We are looking at adding more games in Elkins and possibly going to TX to meet the Hutto Bulldogs.

03-10-10:

Our games begin April 10.  We will have games every Saturday through the end of school.  Most of them will be in Springdale.  A few may be out of state. Then our tournament season will begin.
With the quick arrival of our season, we need to get every boy measured this Thurs, March 11th at practice.  If you are not able to make it to the practice, please email your son's pant and jersey sizes and their top 3 choices for number to rami.dynasty@gmail.com.
The jersey order will be placed on Friday, March 12th, so do not delay!!
Since everything got moved forward, we need to split the deposit and have you bring $75 this Thursday and the other $75 will be due before April 1, so we can get the helmets ordered.
Please contact Jeromy or Rami if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks for your cooperation!
